Destiny...

Destiny...

A Poem by Raspberry Rebel
"

Word bank contest Bare, Twirl, Butterfly, Window, Light, Tea, Breath, Senses, Create, Pattern...

"

Sat on plush purple

in an otherwise BARE room,

my china cup tinkled lightly

against the soft TWIRL of my spoon.

A crystal BUTTERFLY dangled

from a fine thin thread,

like a spider's prey caught

in a perfectly spun web.

A small oval WINDOW

let in warm rays of LIGHT,

that were rapidly drifting

from bright day into night .

My sweet TEA was soothing

taking another slow sip,

I let it linger like a kiss

from a lover on my lips.

My SENSES haywire

releasing a nervous BREATH,

I gave my destiny to a gypsy

whose arms were outstretched.

I waited expectantly,

then with a knowing smile

she said, "Erm very interesting

should we begin, my dear child?"

Do we CREATE our own path,

or does fate play a part?

Could a PATTERN made of leaves

truly hold the key to my heart?...

Sugar, I can see you have put a great lot of effort into this fabulous poem, and it shows! I loved every stanza, each a little gem of its own....but still flowing onward to completion. Well done! Thank you so much for submitting this outstanding write to Tovli's Ten!

Oh I loved this poem the imagery was wonderful and I read it twice to piece together an image together in my head and was lovely in the way it flowed. Very nice.

What I find so much fun with the Ten Word is the fact that the same words take each of us down a different path. I really did enjoy the "journey" your poem offered and could just picture you getting your fortune revealed by that gypsy. :) Sharon

Love the beautiful butterfly stanza and the final one, love the theme you chose and the way you try to determined the way of things. You show that as already knew your talent turns to any thing and makes it deep and beautiful. Keep em' coming C

Circumstances and fate play their part, not too sure if tea leaves do!

You used these words beautifully in this poem. I really liked it, and the question at the end.
