Chapter One:Only The Start

Genesis Johnson sat on the front steps of sacramento High School her long brown hair flowing into her face from
the wind,her brown eyes scanning the parking lot for her best friend Apirl
Moore and her boyfriend Mather Matherson to arrive.She looked down at her outfit;she wore light jeans, a white v-neck
t-shirt and a black cardigan sweater.Her heart necklas sat gently on her chest and she smiled at the words I LOVE YOU. Looking up
she saw Mat coming her way , and smiled;mat with his short auburn hair,and big blue eyes,he had this smile that could justlight
up a room.He was a football player so he had that AMAZING football build;he was 6'2 barely towering over Genesis's 5'8 height.
He was wearing a pair of dark loose jeans,and aMichigan state pullover sweater. Mat was a sweet guy but you had to be carful of
what you said around him,the boy had a short fuse... But to Genesis it was like a whole diffrent person, he was loyal and treated
her like a princess.

"Hey beautiful,"He said as he neared Genesis, his backpack falling off his shoulder as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes,"What are you doing out here?"

"Waiting for you and april,"Genesis yawned,pecked Mat on the check as he sat next to her, wrapping his arms around her waist."Shes late.As always,but that's April for you.Taking to long in the
shower singing to God knows what,"she laughed lightly.

Mat shook his head, knowing exactly what his girlfriend's best friend was like. Crazy a*s Apirl, the girl was only 4'11 yet she was intimidating in her own way. She
had short choppy black hair, and she was ALWAYS wearing a beanie, skinny jeans,and a funky t-shirt.She never left the house without her DJ headphones,IPHONE, or her drumsticks,you ocuyld never separate her
from those three items, and it was like physically impossible. You could clearly see her green eyes behind her big, square glasses. All in all the girl was just adorable, with her bubbly and semi-morbid
veiw of the world, and she liked to smile and laugh.She was amazing and one of the loyalist best friends you could ask for. She
was blunt and says exactly what she thinks.She was creative and the things she thought of were out of this world.She was a true artist,like Genesis.

Mat leaned in to Genesis, gently lifting up her chin so there lips would meet;as he got closer they heard a bang and their heads shot up.Genesis saw April
walking over, head banging her large headphones covering her ears as she hit anything possible with her drumsticks making a strange beat.

Mat shook his head,"Now she decides to show up.I'm gonna shove those drumsticks up her-"Genesis gave him a look,saying what she didn't have to speak.FINISH THAT AND THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY.
Mat shrugged getting up with Genesis,as she walked over to April.

April's arms were swinging, as she almost hit Genesis,as she tried to grab April'sarms.Mat chuckled, at April's dazed look and laughed when Genesis
hit her arm, telling her to be quiet. April rolled her eyes, as Genesis put her arm around her short friend's shoulders;April pushed Genesis to Mat, and ran away.

"You'll never catch me!"April yelled as she shouldered her bag, and ran as fast as her short legs could go.

Genesis shook her head,"Just because your a striker in soccer and your fast doesn't mean I can't catch you! I'm a track star!"Genesis shoved her bag in Mat's arms and ran after her friend,
laughing hysterically.

Mat laughed and threw Genesis's bag over his shoulder, suddenly there was a dark arm over his shoulder, and Derek Clark appeared next to him. Thought they were on the football team together Mat and Derek
weren't the best of friends.Derek with his dark skin,short black hair and cute face,and seemed innocent but inside was a true player.Derek had this thing where
he liked to steal girlfriends and it seemed his next target was Genesis.Of all the girls in the school he had to pick her.

Derek removed his arm and walked with Mat,"There both pretty cute."He smiled,"But I llike the ones I can reach."He laughed,as Mat glared at hime."I'm still working on stealing her."
He looked over at Mat now,the anger clearly showing on his face.

Suddenly someone clapped Mat on the back, trying to calm him;he looked down a few inches to see another one of his football mates.Edward Connors;he wasn't short but he wasn't tall either,he
was kind of in the middle.His bright blue eys were piercing and intimidating, but to any girl they would make you melt. He had short black hair, and was built;he had a strong body and a cute face.
"Calm down Mat, she isn't paying any attention to white chocolate"Edward nuged his head towards Derek who was looking down the hall in the direction the girls ran off in.

"What the f**k!I'm not white!"Derek jumped back into the conversation.

"Well you're not f*****g dark chocolate"

"I'm still black!"

"Barely!"Edward paused letting out a deep breathe as Derek faced him with arms crossed and his eyes glaring at him,"Fine!You're f****n caramel colored!"

"You're a f****n idiot!I can't stand to be around your stupidity im f****n leaving"Derek left and walked towards homeroom a few doors down.

"Whatever"Edward wispered,Edward laughed as Derek almost walked into a trash can.He looked back to Mat, who was still angery over Dereks little comment."Dont pay attention to him, man,"He said patting Mat on the back."He's just trying to piss you off.He's probly just trying to hit it and quit it."

Mat glared at Edward he didn't like the way Derek thought of Genesis."Calm down!You and I both know Genesis is love crazy about you and would never do anything like that." Edward said knowingly,Mat nodded knowing
that Edward was right.As they walked to class he smiled when he heard Genesis and April singing and laughed in their home room. He stopped in front of the class spotting Apirl sitting at her desk drumming on it and Genesis chair.He smiled at the sight of Genesis,shoe could instantly calm him down.
She looked, and smiled when she saw him,Mat winked at her, and she blew him a kiss.Walking away from them and going into his own class.

Genesis smiled as she turned to April;she was grinning at Genesis.She always did that when she witnessed a moment between the two of them.

"Cute..."She trailed off,putting her head down instantly falling asleep.Genesis laughed.
