Petals in the wind

Something for someone who left me behind.

You two were once together.

You two once had no fear.

You two seemed to want to be together forever.

That was until I came here.

You left without ever meeting me and never looked back at what was left.

I was left here with the one you left behind.

I see my life as if I am a thief and love is my main theft.

There is no point as to why I am here that I could find.

Just like petals in the wind.

You left her behind a lonely.

Just like petals in the wind.

You used to meet at the local dinner

Drink coffee until dawn.

That all ended in the summer.

Cause one day you were gone.

She never did anything wrong to you.

She never meant to have me in the first place.

I thought myself to be a mistake of you two.

Cant you tell by these tears on my face?

Just like petals in the wind.

You left me behind and lonely.

Just like petals in the wind.

Why was I born when all I do is fail?

I broke the bond that you guys shared.

Whenever I ask of you, my mother's face goes pale.

Why did you make it so obvious that you never cared?

Mom says it all worked out for the best.

I can see, though, whenever I ask, she gets upset.

So if I could ever get one request,

I would want to ask you if I was your biggest regret...

Just like petals in the wind.

feels like a lot of emotion throughout this poem. I like the repetition of "Just like petals in the wind. You left us behind and lonely. Just like petals in the wind." - sad but beautiful :)
I like the eighth stanza, especially the line "I would want to ask if I was your biggest regret"
