Father

Father

A Story by ♋ Iris ♋

Twin brothers are split up.
Each family is only looking for one child.
The older brother watches his younger twin leave with his new mom.
The younger brother is sad to see leave his older brother there, but is quickly surrounded by others like his new daddy.
The older brother stares at the ground wondering, "where was my full family?"
Tears start to escape from the older twins eyes.
He feels a tap on his shoulder and is surprised when he gets picked up.
The boy looks at the man he would be living with.
He is smiling at him with genuine kindness.
The boy stiffs up his lip and stops crying.
The boy gets to his new home.
It is nice and big.
The man shows him his new room.
The boy keeps a straight face throughout the entire tour of the house.
He didn't know how to react to his new surroundings so he just stayed silent.

One day the boy was walking around the house and broke a vase.
He was worried that the man was going to yell at him.
The man wasn't angry at all.
The man got the broom and the boy held onto the pan.
They worked together to clean up the mess.

The man walked into the boy's playroom one day.
He smiled down at the boy who was sleeping next to his toys.
The man got a blanket from his room and covered up the gentle boy.

The man woke up from a dream of a montage of the time that he had spent with the boy.
He had come to love this boy very much.
The problem was, he didn't think the boy liked him very much at all.
He hardly even talked to him and he never shows expression.
He opened his eyes and got a shock.
The boy was laying next to him in his bed still asleep since it was morning.
The boy was holding onto the man's finger as he slept.
The man smiled widely and wrapped his fingers around the young boys hand.
The man fell back asleep with the warm feelings that the boy actually liked him.

Soon after that, the man had to go away for a  business trip.
The boy was drawing when the man had to leave.
He patted the young boy on the head and told him that he would be back soon.
The boy didn't look up until the man was out of the house.
It was quiet besides the noise of the nanny that was going to look after him.
He looked down at the picture he was drawing and tears filled his eyes.
The picture was of the man smiling his kind smile.

The man got into his car to leave.
He pulled down the visor because of the sun.
Out of the visor fell a picture of the boy.
He smiled when saw the photo of the boy half smiling at the camera.
His heart weld up and he turned off the car.
He ran back to the door and swung it open.
"Don't leave, Daddy!"
The man was surprised when he saw the boy standing at the door panting with tears in his eyes.
The man got down on one knee and opened his arms wide.
The boy ran into his father's arms and cried, this time happy tears, into his father's shoulder.
