Me

Me

A Poem by Dark Angel

I sit here

All alone in my silent reverie

All confused

And rushing as the sea

My silent solitude

Is slightly calming

A sturdy shelter

From all the mental bombing

The chill of loneliness

No longer exists

The loneliness

My mind no longer resists

No one is allowed past my Gate

For I fear I'll hurt them

They do not understand the pain I know

That I will soon put on them

My heart is a deadly weapon

All broken into shards

My heart recognizes no one

No one is saved from her regards

In the depths of the shadows

Is where I reside

Where no one can see me

And my rules I can abide

You come to seek me

You come to tame

I'm here to tell you

You are one and the same

Many before you

Have tried and failed

Many before you

Have never availed

I gave my warning

Plenty a time

Which you did not heed

So now who's in crime?

You are hurting

I've said before

But you do not leave

Through my open door

Why must you torture

Yourself this way

I told once before

It's not safe for you to stay

I'm better alone

I'm safe put away

My fears are my fears

It's better this way

Oh my friend

Why can't you see

That the pain your feel

Is me?

A rather interesting poem. I can understand how you feel; you don't want to burden somebody with all your worries and problems (correct me if I am wrong). You diligently bear your strife; and yet only through sharing the pain can healing begin. That is the melancholy nature of love, if I am not mistaken.

Well written and well composed. Might not be what you expected from me, but hey; I'm not just another Writerscafe member, now am I?

Interesting. I like the rhyme scheme here. It's really good. I read it out loud and it sounds even better than in my head. =). This was really good. I'd say this is my favorite poem of yours.

A amazing poem. Those woman that take the most effort are worth the hard work to get to know. I like the emotion and feelings in the story. Some warnings are temptation for the brave. A excellent poem.

Well written, I'm a sucker for rhyme...! I feel that this poem could be better though. Maybe if you were to make less stanzas and combine two stanzas, I feel that it'd make the form look much fuller that way too. And there's a typo at the last stanza, read it and you'll figure it out! Oh, and I like the twisted ending. I just didn't like the "loneliness" and "loneliness" in the third stanza.

I can feel your pain...this poem has a lot of meaning behind it, whether you know the history or not, and that's what makes it beautiful. Very much so like the wonderful young lady who wrote it :-)
