life's ball game

a poem written in all seriousness

everyday inside us all,

life and death are pitted,

in a common game of ball,

where the stakes are highly fretted,

 

on the field life's played love,

family and pure strong will,

and because of our friends above,

we are undefeated still,

 

but in full force death played stress,

and hatred in all sizes,

plus every single illness,

and all of life's suprises,

 

yet we must trust that in the end,

a victory our God will send,
