Falling for That Dream

Falling for That Dream

A Poem by Julie Morgan

I can’t believe I fell for that

Falling for my stupid little dream.

But your face was in perfect detail

And your voice spoke straight to me.

My eye’s widened like the moon

And my heart’s beat picked up speed.

I wish I hadn’t fallen for that

Believing in my mind’s games.

But I had felt every crack in your hands

And every scar remained unchanged.

I guess I’ve wanted this for so long

That my mind fell for this cliché.

I wish I saw that coming

And knew I’d wake to see the clouds.

But I turned away from your smiling face

And turned back to see you vanish from the crowd.

My eyes had opened to see my ceiling

And I was left alone again in my darkest hour.

Whoa dere, this is freaking awesome. Love the way you worded it, and that you bolded the bottom words. Makes them just a little more powerful than they already were. I also like the line "And turned back to see you vanish from the crowd."
