Watching You Walk Away

Watching You Walk Away

A Poem by Julie Morgan
"

A friend that just stopped talking to most of her friends for no apparent reason.

"

What you have, it’s not strength.

The weakest of people can leave

Without a single explanation

For the ones left alone to keep.

You know, I never did believe

You wanted a thing to do with me,

Because you’re so wrapped up

In the things you think keep you happy.

Well, one day they’re going to leave you.

And that day, I’ll have to laugh,

Because you had to kick us away

For a reason that was so daft.

Don’t you see you’re a hypocrite?

Everything that’s made you mad

Is everything you do to me.

A reaction like that is really quite sad.

And don’t put emotions in my heart

When you know they won’t be there.

When people react like you did,

I really have no reason to care.

So, I’ll watch you walk away

Without a smile on your face.

And a sadness is lifted from my heart

That I’ll never need to chase.

Good friends may not always be near. Can be found when needed. I agree with your thoughts. Some people leave us for no reason and leave us with wonder and question. I like the way you ended the excellent poem.

Hey! This is actually a nice piece. I enjoyed reading it because I've been in a similar situation before. You worded out that situation really well since your word choice was great.

I love how you ended it -- so cold. Great job.

Keep writing!
