Watching You Walk AwayA Poem by Julie MorganA friend that just stopped talking to most of her friends for no apparent reason. What
you have, it’s not strength. The
weakest of people can leave Without
a single explanation For
the ones left alone to keep.
You
know, I never did believe You
wanted a thing to do with me, Because
you’re so wrapped up In
the things you think keep you happy.
Well,
one day they’re going to leave you. And
that day, I’ll have to laugh, Because
you had to kick us away For
a reason that was so daft.
Don’t
you see you’re a hypocrite? Everything
that’s made you mad Is
everything you do to me. A
reaction like that is really quite sad.
And
don’t put emotions in my heart When
you know they won’t be there. When
people react like you did, I
really have no reason to care.
So,
I’ll watch you walk away Without
a smile on your face. And
a sadness is lifted from my heart That
I’ll never need to chase. © 2012 Julie MorganAuthor's Note
