Solitary Silence

Solitary Silence

A Poem by Julie Morgan
"

Sleeping all day, and thinking all night.

"

Daylight’s spent

Avoiding the sun

Alone under blankets

Missing in action

In solitary silence

I’m resting away

While others live

Productive days

Sunset comes

They’re closing eyes

But only then

Do my eyelids rise

Without a soul

To connect with

The thought of peace

Is only myth

However unsettling

The darkness may seem

It’s the only time

That comforts me

My second read of your work, and I am quickly becoming a real fan of your writing. You have a natural cadence to yoru writing that seems very adept. I would think if you pursue this discipline, you may become a very good, if not great poet.
