Fifty Years

Fifty Years

A Poem by Julie Morgan
"

My dad has spent his whole lifetime searching for someone to spend the rest of his life with, and I think he's finally found her.

"

Your gleam in your eyes

Has for once been revived.

Your smiles are more true

Than I’ve seen them on you.

Your hands are being held

And you’ve got stories to tell.

“I love you.” escaped your lips

And I knew you really meant it.

It may have taken fifty years

But you have found the one for you,

And it’s given me some hope

That I might find mine too.

Omfg I love it and yeah. The onlt thing that I can really commented on is the rhyming scheme changes a lot, and I find that a little annoying. But that's just me. I really like the last stanza, it stands out in a good way.
