its is about how every teen feels wen they r profiled by adults

Is it because im thirteen 

I cant be seen

Or heard in this world 

because my father still refers to me as his little girl

does my age cut my ears off to quality

That because I'm thirteen erykah badu my favorite singer should be immune to me

Is it because im short in age

Means that my mind and words should be locked and shut in a cage

Does my length in my life spand

Cut off my right to make a stand

Is it because im a teen

that my pain isnt any less stronger in this life scene

is it because im smaller

or younger

that i dont kno wat love is

Last time i check no one knows wat they feel

cuz feelings arent thinking its feeling

Is it because im thirteen i dont have wise thoughts

even if i gave advice to you that even psychologist couldn't have thought

Don't talk down to me

because your older than me

Don't take me for granted

because u feel my smarts aren't as expanded

Listen to me 

And listen to me carefully

Im smart

And i hate you

age has little or nothing to do with emotions although You tend to feel things more strongly in your teens as you body adjusts to the release of hormones

It is so difficult to be "between" ages. Age 13, 15, 17... So hard. The challanges young people face today are hard for adults to comprehend, but the youth have to be smart, and stand strong for what they believe... just to survive the pressures they face. That being said, from an adult standpoint, often times what someone young has to say is in fact more intellectual than many adults. Young people are being enlightened to the world around them every moment... while the average adult is in the same mindset and environment day after day. As a parent... although not your parent... I would like to think that with a strong opinion and mindset would come respect for others, and also the wisdom to know when you an inject an opinion and when it is best to keep quiet and listen. Many adults don't even know how to do that.
