No Place Like This

An orphan girl is lost. She feels so far from the world. She is alone, even though there are thousands of other people there. She lost her mother. Now all she wants is to see her again.

A daughter.

Lost.

Alone in the world without her mother.

Gone.

She was betrayed, left alone, and bruised.

She lost all her hope,

She felt the abuse.

She was homesick.

Or maybe it was all a twisted trick.

Maybe her family loved her.

Maybe they’d come back again.

Was it possible?

No.

it could not be.

Yet, still, she hoped to be set free.

Mother!

That’s what she cries out in her sleep.

Her mother shouts back,

but she still can not see-

The pain she has brought to her daughter’s poor life.

So sad, so vulnerable.

She hates what she’s done.

She hates her life.

All she ever wanted was to save her sweet soul.

But, her mother is gone, so she must also go.
