Gary lends a hand

Gary lends a hand

A Poem by sallysig
"

I didn't actually write this, it was a joint effort between the senior citizens (who came to my primary school on a Thursday morning) and the 5th and 6th class.

"
George and Belinda,
made a castle,
they made it out of sand,
along came Gary,
with a lorry,
to lend a helping hand,

The tide was coming,
swiftly flowing,
along the golden strand,
the gulls were crying,
the wind was sighing,
but still the tide flowed on,

Gary was making progress,
by digging with his spade,
the castle quickly grew,
with the help of his large blade,

The tide was coming closer,
it crept upon their feet,
sadly their kingdom crumbled,
and vanished into the sea,

And so they all went home,
with Gary at the wheel,
and he said "don't be too disappointed, some day we'll try again".
