Alone on the dance floorA Poem by Zeba SyedThis poem is been written at the most vulnerable state, hence the rawness . So it has no structure, dint follow any poem-protocols. There is always next time fr that. Enjoy!!Alone was I when you where by my side, Alone I am when you are gone. Alone was not what I signed for, Alloy of joy and wonders they said. Wrong where they, wronged was I, Of all the years of dwelling amongst unbelievers, Like a ray of sun in the cold winters, You smiled your way to my heart, Then tore away with spades and daggers. All was for naught; you turned to be amongst the unbelievers, Should have showed a sign, sigh!! Alone I stand in the dance floor, Searching in the dark for those beautiful eyes, Knowing in the heart of hearts they will never return. Gone are the days when happiness was a whole, Gone are the days when colors were enjoyed, Gone are the days of prettiness and blush. Here I stand, alone outstretched on the dance floor, teary eyed, a slush. Self infliction, pitied! The sympathizer became the sympathy. Wounds are healed, hallelujah metabolism, What about the deep gash? Emotion aint no organism. Question unanswered to where was I wrong, Or is the question right, person wrong. Been long lingering yet in the dance floor, Waiting for the prince to hold and lead me on. For I know I am abandoned, long gone is he, For I know I have to live with only residual memory, Though I still stand waiting all alone on the dance floor. © 2013 Zeba SyedAuthor's Note
