But She

But She

A Poem by Zada Robbins

  Lo? She speaks,
Soft, sweet, rendering grace,
  honey lozenges to my soul
Lo? She moves,
   Smooth, like a red wine,
 unpretentious like a saint
Lo? She glows,
  Harnessing the energy of thousands,
   through her golden eyes
Lo? She is mine,
     Too beautiful for me,
      but she loves me so

I wonder if Lo was a word used to draw attention or Lo as in Lolita. In this way, the the poem has a double-meaning. But honestly, It makes me think of Lolita...not necessarily the protagonist in Nakobov's novel or the general definition of a lolita. Rather a sweet young girl that has a very heavenly aura attracting all (girls, women, boys, men, elders, animals) and gracing and blessing them with her shimmering eyes and sweet smile. I thought your poem was very dulcet.
