The Tar of the City Sewage

The Tar of the City Sewage

A Story by Lusus Naturae
"

May be considered explicit. This individual was raised in a sketchy area and got into black tar heroin. He also happened to be someone else's hero...

"

Sweet dear child, your clean skin has become stained with the tar of the city sewage.

You were born with such innocence, your mother looked into your eyes and saw it…

Wandering brown eyes that were oblivious to the tar until it began to stain you. The tar

stained the wall, it stained your clothes…It stained your wife. She did not have wandering

eyes, but a heart which lay spread open, waiting for someone to stitch it back together. With

a light caress of the shoulder, her heart was stitched back together and stained with the tar

 of the city sewage.

Author's Note

Lusus Naturae
I read "tar of the city sewage" and thought trouble, black tar heroin... And perhaps she fell in love with him and became hooked as well, or maybe the tar was not a drug, maybe it was bad in general... Toxicity.. Or when her heart was stained, perhaps he was unloyal. Take whichever approach.

Your poem had the feel of real life and real life sadness. Something (Drugs) can steal your soul and turn you black in need for the wrong things. I liked how you described the person and the situation. A powerful poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Or possibly you could see the phrase "A heart which lay spread open" as the wife calling to her husband to drop his "addiction" and care for her a pure love story perhaps :)

Yes, you just as well could. I did not see it that way and I appreciate another outlook. Danke
