Tyrant

Tyrant

A Poem by D. Jones

We’ve Broken our necks for you
slaving away for what it’s worth
but reward comes cheap for skillful liars
testing strength of will
sharp tales take chunks of flesh
blood spraying with each word
god, let not my prayers go unheard
see not the war within me
for the world outside is bad enough
you’ve tortured our souls far too long
