Soft Impact

Soft Impact

A Poem by Zola Reve

To be a lotus is to understand that the beginning will be seen as unclear
In the depths of the murky waters
everything seen from outside eyes is perceived as contaminated
This contamination is only a word placed upon things that appears not pure

The lotus itself at the beginning knows none of this
The lotus itself only knows that it appeared
The lotus has a hidden goal in mind but does not make it happen
It does it without outside instruction
Flourishing, such a neutral word with great power resides within the dirt

The dirt never loses this power but the lotus can
Yet it doesn't have to
How can such an unpure thing give and teach bliss across the pond?
Those who don't know their beginnings will never recognize the soft impact this flower brings every dawn.

Could be an ode to the star-studded night sky and the Big Bang..nicely self-contained piece

There is a deeper message blooming in this beautifully creative poem. If we forget where we came from, we can never bloom consistently regardless of what we think we know.
