Proceed

Proceed

A Poem by Zola Reve
"

An old poem of mine.

"

You must let your truth speak

Each breath taken and released

Your ribcage expresses as it expands,

To receive the message that it was sent

Proceed...

The silent creeks, cracks within crevasses of the bone marrow sings

Highlighting notes beyond comprehension of any sentient being

Free me from the agony of  the unsalvageable!

Surely this is not what everyone sees?!

Surely this is not what is me.

Approached by a crutch just to keep me Leaning..

Clinging..

Onto dear life but what is the meaning?

Is it all for show?

Is it all for free?

I have to free myself from this agony

But who truly knows me?

Wait, my first best-friend started from the seed

Take hold of the roots on the side of cliff

Grip them tight then pull up to lift

This was a most interesting write. It poses a question unspoken, deeper than those pronounced. Are we alone in the way we feel? No. We are not alone and far from it. We are all sharing this great experience of humanity; it's pain, suffering, hope, joy, misery, love, faith and eventually, death. But we each feel alone because we do not share or express to one another our need for fear; fear of being rejected, fear of being misunderstood, fear of being human and fear of the feeling itself. Perhaps the greatest meaning is finding the strength and courage to allow ourselves our humanity; to admit our frailty and fragility but at the same instance put forth a helping hand, a single strand of hope like the spider casts a filament...ever so silent and thin but strong enough to hold not only its own weight but to carry another; a sister or brother from the depths where they have fallen. We are all in the same sinking boat, and some of us have not yet learned to swim. We must do anything but cling to those who cannot, lest we become an anchor pulling them down, rather than a lifegiving buoyance, helping them stay afloat. I very much enjoyed the thought invoking write. Keep up the good work and great writing. F.

Hmm, hmm, okay, I really like this poem. It is unique, especially the ending. I like the encouragement / instruction you end this with. The whole poem being full of meaning had me drowning with no intention of surfacing for air and then you brought me up. :(

But at least I got to spend the time I did in your wonderful poem. Tyfs
