Did you forget to throw me the life ring or did you want to watch me drown?

Did you forget to throw me the life ring or did you want to watch me drown?

A Poem by zoehambridge

How naive of your twisted tainted soulless mind,
to believe, and even make me believe for a split second, you could break me.
That your fingers could rip me apart,
And you could hold me down.
Your cold hands could take my heart, and soul to replace what you lost a long time ago.
And you would throw me, your harbouring hatred ever so evident now,
Into the water and you would watch me drown.
You would watch me suffer, for months, for years.
Until your words, lies and rumours would drown the little faith I had left.
And when my body floated to the surface,
It would be another thing you could boast about.
How naive of you, to think you could win.
To think the girl who was so weak would crumble and fall.
Heres a bit of truth my dear. I refuse to sink.
