Forgive my clumsy tongue.A Poem by zoehambridgeAnd I'll say the wrong thing, And every word I've said will run circles around your mind, And you'll sit up right in bed, And lean to the window And spark a cigarette. And the smoke will rise Suffocating us, Dancing, Beautiful and poisonous Slightly like us. And my clumsy tongue will apologise. Again. And my bitter sweet longing for you At this very precise moment Will cause my breath to be taken And my hands, most likely shaking. Will hold your hands, exactly where mine belong. I'm sorry my darling. Forgive me for the things I do wrong. © 2012 zoehambridge |
