For once I'd like to take a book
& read what's really inside.
Like when the main character dies,
I wonder what's left behind of the lover,
The poor girl he leaves behind.
For once I'd like a book you see,
To know how you would react.
So I can counter every move you make,
& perfect the strikes and not leave it to fate.
For once I'd like to step back from here,
& look in from the past.
I'd like to take you with me,
To relieve it all again.
Oh the notions and the nursery rhymes,
& time seems to fly.
I just want to click on pause,
stare in those eyes of yours
Then tell me, you're mine.

"For once I'd like to take a book
& read what's really inside."
Life in a sense is kind of like a book. There are hidden messages and coded words that are littered everywhere. Sometimes, you just want to have a little cheat sheet and decode and unravel everything before the outcome becomes unfavourable and usually, too late.
"Like when the main character dies,
I wonder what's left behind of the lover,
The poor girl he leaves behind."
This poem's title already gives away that a lovesick teen is writing this, so obviously, this is referring to a dead relationship. After one person leaves, what happens to the other party? The heart is already given away, a piece of the cake taken. The person is left broken while the other has stolen away something that does not belong to him.
"For once I'd like a book you see,
To know how you would react.
So I can counter every move you make,
& perfect the strikes and not leave it to fate."
Sometimes, you want a book that tells you everything that the person is doing, thinking and even feeling, so you can make things better or worse. Well, that's what this teen is feeling now. She wants to know how can she get her lover back, how can she win the person back and not let fate decides what happens.
"For once I'd like to step back from here,
& look in from the past.
I'd like to take you with me,
To relieve it all again."
When you're in the past and look into the future, you'll most likely be thinking, if I hadn't done this or that, the future would have been different. Well, this girl is thinking exactly that and she wants to replay everything again, except she wants her used to be with her, so that they get to choose the path together.
"Oh the notions and the nursery rhymes,
& time seems to fly.
I just want to click on pause,
stare in those eyes of yours
Then tell me, you're mine."
The first line tells us that she's tired of all the games and she wants to stop everything, drop everything down and return to what really matters. To know that you're loved.
Hope you enjoyed the poem. Okaythanksbye:D
