Dear Jayme. 15th Letter.A Chapter by zoEstrrEmily 29 August 2007 I thank the good Lord for preserving you, Jayme. You’re free! The court’s charges against you were weak, only a name card, they couldn’t do anything. I have been praying for you, Jayme, and I thank God’s grace for listening to my heart’s prayer. The Frontiers Paper has caught up with your story and they are like a pack of untamed wild dogs, wanting more and more of juicy gossip. As we exited the court house, they rushed to us, shouting questions that sounded like the roaring of the wind in my ears. You were still cold towards everything, Jay. You pushed past the reporters and hastily flagged a cab. Without waiting for me, you signalled him to drive off. All I could feel was the icy coldness you had, what happened to the Jayme I knew? You were about 13 and you saw a sick kitten, mewing for its mother. Usually, boys at your age would have just walked passed, not giving the kitten a second look. Instead, you forced me to stop the car and ran towards the poor creature, embracing it. The kitten was stunned, clearly, for it frozen in your arms and started mewing even louder. You brought it home, that cat, and nursed it to health. You were so gentle with it, you always were. That was why when all these happened, I wonder where did you go. You just left me and Richard hanging there. I’ll still be waiting for you to come back to me, son. I’ll still be here, just don’t take too long. © 2010 zoEstrr |
