I've got a problem

i fell to my knees i tried to pray
but I'll got was more pain
i keep trying to believe
but all i have is scraped knees,
bad memories
and more tears than anyone could dream
i don't wish for more
i don't wish for less
i don't wish for the best
i wish for hope to come alive
i wish for just the smallest ray of light

i dream but i only dream nightmares
i breathe but i breathe ash
i see but only through these tear stained eyes
and i hope but what i hope for is death
i scream but it comes out a whisper
i cry but those tears evaporate before they could ever hit the ground
i smile but from every angle it looks like a frown

so if you're out there
please be listening
