a perfect image

a perfect image

A Poem by ZmH

its been so long
but this blankness calls to me
drawing me home
painting me colors of inspiration
swirls of yellow dots of blue
sketching me anew

a clean slate could never be enough
erase me, draw me again and again
tell me stories of something that i have know clue
tell me stories of things i wish i knew

make me witty beyond comparison
beautiful beyond the naked eye
with a voice of an angel
and a smile brighter than the stars
let people whisper things about me that only gods can conceive
let jealous fall upon the people frozen beyond my feet
let glory be but a faint accomplishment for the others sing out loud

erase me and draw me yet again
for the image portrayed
is not an image within

may beauty be beyond skin
may voice speak out in words of encouragement
may smile bring compassion
may jealousy be but a dream
may whispers be just whispers
may i be just plain me?
