a not so simple goodbye

the memories fly by
i wish time would stand still
i wish a day before
i would have called
i wish my mom would have talked to you
about all your pain
i wish i was there when you thought you were sick
most of all i wish you were still here with me
its been months, but it seems like days
the pain will never settle, nor will it ever fade

tears fall like a steady rain
did you ever think our lives would stay the same?
did you care?
were you scared?
when you hit the floor,
never to return.
did you know they were there
didnt care,
just let you fall
did you know
they let you go,
they took you from all of us
did you think?
for just one second the pain would fade?
your sickness was only you.
it took you.
consumed you,
and left you to die.
did you know?
did you?
when enough was enough...
guess not...
your in memories and in my thoughts
is that enough?
has to be one
you were taken from me.
one day it had to be goodbye.
but so soon....
