delirium

delirium

A Poem by ZmH

the clock strikes three
no daylight shines
just the darkness of the morn'
and my un-kept mind
sweat beads cascade down my face
caressing my cheek bones, and falling out of place
slowly down my spine the chills creep
like a spider in its web
a cheetah on its feet
i am the prey
the weak and simple minded
my nightmares stalk me at every hour
i toss and i turn
and i turn again
pull the sheets closer
shall i dive in?
immerse myself in horrific screams
i screech, i gasp, i cling
like a title wave i fall, i crash
to sleep i am at last
tick, tock
the clock strikes once again
i flutter my eyes open
the day begins
another blurr
delirium
