the old barn

the old barn

A Poem by ZmH

pitch black night

starry light

moon dulled but yet still bright

wind whistling

rain trickling,

heavy on the tin roof

boards creak

floor weak

mice squeek

in the old barn

paint peeling

heat consealing

hollow for the animals and swallows

windows boarded

hay old as dirt

a homie feeling to the creatures of earth
