tears of remembrance

dedicated to my great grandfather who faught in WW2, and all the other veterans out there.

the shots ring out over the battle field

people yield with fear

ships sail from harbor to harbor,

not knowing if they will return today or even tomorrow

their passion for freedom burns

their soul yerns to be free

hearts cry out as people fall

tears tell all

centuries they've faught,

many they have taught

that freedom does not come free

blood spills,

travels over hills,

lives, loves lost

yet they still fight

for the glory of RED and WHITE

over seas so BLUE

A great and sad tribute for the fallen.. as well as the many souls yearning freedom and peace... this calls out to so many touched in the face of a great war.. remembering something we did not go through is not easy.. with the winds touching us today.. I feel the power of remembrance is reignited much inspiration .. within myself and so many writes I've been reading.. this one was tremendously felt.. great writing! Thank you so much for sharing!
