Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa

A Poem by ZmH

rain splashes on the tin roof

cold breeze moves into the room

her face painted ivory

no longer a touch of scarlette

upon once rosey cheeks

her voice became so weak

he lay on the floor no longer meek

tears swell beneath her eyes

what she saw came to no suprise

all signs there

no recognition

she had no time to petition

the pain stung and burned with a fire

the pain overcame every desire

she fell upon the ground

crying, holding back not a single sound

lips compressed,

dark eyes filled with sorrow

never thinking about tomorrow

her chest now hollow

forever painted on her face lover's frown

her eyes forever cast down

some say forever shell be known by,

mona lisa's frown
