Sands of Time

Time wavers 

thoughts collide 

inside the hearts of broken minds 

laughter glides within the veins 

happiness is grasped again

smiles foreshadow years lost

words written in time and then forgot

feelings like the drift of sand 

mind caught in wonderland

breathless or hardly breathing 

why are the sands of time so deceiving

the lightness of a grain of sand

memories in the mind of a broken man

the heart beats and it begs 

as the sand tumbles 

and buries me
