"family" LGBT begening

"family" LGBT begening

A Poem by chris hoagland
"

spoken word brainstorming

"
I grew up with the jokes and hidden meanings.
the anger fits and the yelling.
the lies and kicks.

I grew up in a family.
a vary broken family after 15 years.
at the age of 13 i finally figured out my feelings.
guys are hot.
girls are hot.
its a possibility to be open minded.
i discovered there is a community out there of people just like me
L-G-B-T

i grew up without an actual family
i grew up lost and confused, broken by misconceptions
age 14
i spoke my mind on life
one week later i was admitted to a hospital for mentally ill children
i met some of the most passionate kids i have ever met
lost
just like me

i was confused
age 17, 2015
i found myself
not as a man but a woman

i found my family
L-G-B-T
