The Lie

The Lie

A Poem by Zippora
"

rant

"
At first it seemed you were giving me freedom:
to succeed, to fail,
to live my life
like I couldn't before.

A car to take me anywhere I wanted,
to get tattoos and piercings if I wished,
stability,
but it was a lie.

For the car comes with conditions,
the tattoos all judged and piercings pre-approved,
emotional instability.
and now I'm stuck.
