Heavy Heart

Heavy Heart

A Story by Zippora
"

First love....and a bad end.

"

Two years ago I spent three hours crying. It all started exactly a month before, and I got asked out. We started going out and it was really wonderful. We held hands all the time and gave each other hugs in between classes. We would meet up at the annex campus, holding hands and talking. He was my first kiss. It was in our spot, I bet that I had more CD’s than him and I lost, so I kissed him. It was really awkward because it was more like a graze of the lips then a kiss, and I, being the awkward person I am, decided to make it less awkward by going in for a hug right afterward and just staying there for a while.

That month was the best month of my life it was like a streak of perfection. It was funny because when we made it Facebook official, one of my friends had sent me a message and warned me that my boyfriend was using me to get to another girl. I am naturally suspicious, so knowing that put me on edge. Four days before our one month anniversary we were sitting on the wall, he introduced me to the girl he wanted to date both of us, that he was going to take a break from both relationships and let us decided a week later. I forced a smile on my face for the rest of the day even though I wanted to break down and cry. I was so blinded by love I was willing to consider sharing him with another girl. After that weekend, he came and met me over at my last class. We were sitting on the stairs and mutually agreed to not see each other anymore….well more like him talking sense into me. I finally started to unleashed all of the emotions inside and started crying, he told me I wasn’t allowed to leave that building until I was all better, and could walk out without looking back. I sat there, his arm around me for about half the time. He was so nice…it wasn’t really helping but I didn’t care. I just wanted to stay in his arms forever.

I was able to stop crying, stood up and asked what would happened if I looked back? He said he would drag me back and we would start all over again. I sighed. I almost wanted to make myself look back just to stay there because I knew once I left….it would never be the same. You can’t be friends after something like that. I picked up my stuff, walked out the doors, turned the corner, and the first thing I do when I know he can’t see me from the spot we were sitting is look back. Maybe I thought he would follow me….I don’t know, but there was no one there, I was alone again. I trudged home and I cried more. If I learned anything from that day, from that entire relationship, it’s that you can’t date someone if they like someone else…it just won’t work out.

A very well written and personal piece. Unfortunately, first relationship never end well in most cases. This is the first one I heard of that didn't involve a complete a*****e. Still, it is very sad and I'm sorry that happen.
