pi r squared

pi r squared

A Poem by semicolon
"

pi r squared is the formula for finding the surface area of a sphere, which relates to the last line of the poem.

"
I swear I'm not this desperate,
I'm in a bad bad place.
the place I need to be,
is only inches from your face.

can't escape this feeling,
the one I'm trying to hide.
it's time for me to go now,
to leave it all behind.

I don't know where I'm going,
all I know is I'm going to fall.
and when I hit the ground,
I'm going to feel nothing at all.

I'm numb without you,
drifting along with no purpose.
you must think this is deep,
I'm only scratching the surface.

The impression that I get from reading this is that you lost a connection with someone close to you, possibly a lover of sorts. And you know that you should let it all go, but you can't, at least not yet. I connect with this feeling - I'm going through the same type of situation. At least you made it into a piece of art.

You had a very nice rhythm throughout the poem. I think the only place where it didn't match up syllable-wise was line 10, and that is such a small critique that it hardly even matters.

Stanza three stuck out to me because it gave my brain a nice little visual. It made me think of someone walking blindly toward a cliff or something, but they're not afraid because they already know what's going to happen. Maybe it's happened before? Maybe you've been through this whole situation before?

Overall, I liked reading this poem, and I look forward to reading more from you. :)
