curtain call

curtain call

A Poem by zeronineight
"

(n) the appearance of one or more performers on stage after a performance to acknowledge the audience's applause

"

sometimes i wish

i had battle scars

to show the world

the depth of my pain

sometimes i wish

i was brave enough

to want an end to things

and actually try

but i know

heroism

is the last thing in your mind

when you take a blade

and plunge it where it hurts

it's despair

a call for help

it's sitting on your bedroom floor, begging

for someone to listen

for this one person you trusted

to understand

see your pain

help you out

it's receiving laughter

being tossed aside

it's hearing the pain in your voice

the horrors you keep locked inside

and looking away

it's a blur of pain

-- intense, overwhelming, all consuming

caught in your silent screams

your deperate pleas

your falling tears

it's wanting

pleading

begging

needing

it's your last attempt

your call for help

A sense of unknowing melacholy crept unto me as I read this. It's puzzling and strange, I feel a sense of understanding while not comprehending everything at all. It's like reading something intimate of those who are distant to me. The idea is native, but the feels are so foreign, an intriguing work indeed.
