A Poem by zeronineight
"

we know we are each other's placeholders

"

i know you are a placeholder

the same way i am with you

maybe

i'm still unsure what's true

i know i am not entirely captivated

but i like being with you

i like the way you make me feel

when i am around you

and i think you feel the same way too

but here's the thing i fear

the more i hold you closely

the more i want to hold you dearly

to maybe make you love me

to maybe find me attractive

more than just to take to bed

more than just to share a breath

yet the more i want you dearly

the more i don't want you near me

the more i don't want you to see

the worst parts of me,

deeper than the stories i've told you

more intimately than the memories

you know secondhand, i don't

want you to be another placeholder

for all the emptiness within me

yearning to be filled

with your endearing eyes

your captivating smiles

your precious kisses, i don't

want to make a placeholder

out of somebody

as treasured as you

Such depth into one's own mentality dictates the right for one to access their own fantasies.
What is it that we want? What is it that we don't want? What is it that we need?
The answers to such questions at times, may conflict amongst themselves.
Still, they have one thing in common.
They all signal an unyielding desire.
And by day's end, is that not enough? To keep one continue?

Fantastical work, friend~!
