people think of love and loving differently

to me,
love is the calm sea
love is a total surrender
a laying down of arms

and boy am i armed to the bone

to me,
love is filled with trust and belonging
love is finding a safe space
in the eye of a storm

and boy does it storm like there's no tomorrow

to me,
love is a gamble
love is choosing to lay down your arms
to stay in the eye when you know of the storm

and boy is it exhausting to gamble
