is a thought in my head

that i don't express,

it's the squint in my eyes

the raising of two brows

 

it's a thought i try

to shoo away, hoping

that it leaves

 

but it's a thought

that stays

in the back of my head

in the words that you say

in the help you don't give

in the way you look away

 

it's a word that reverberates

and finds its way back to me

for if i was any different,
