do you like pink?

There comes a moment in your life

when you find the line that separates

knowing you're allowed to like pink

and actually liking pink

 

Maybe it comes in stages

How you find yourself

gravitating

towards similar colors

like the lightest of reds

or the brightest of lavenders

 

Until you find yourself

seeking comfort in

the lightest of pinks,

those that remind you of

cherry blossoms in spring

 

And maybe you'll find yourself

liking other shades of pink

finding out which shades

you like most,

figuring out if you

still like other colors

that used to give you comfort

 

Maybe you do

maybe you don't

maybe you like them less

maybe you like them more

 

Maybe at some point

having a favorite

stops being the question

 

But one thing is certain --
