Pride or Prejudice?

When I ask for assistance,

and you turn it into a sermon,

is it pride or is it prejudice?

 

Are you proud

that you once overcame this obstacle

and now you want to help me too

 

And is it my pride

you're stepping on

cos I didn't come here for a sermon,

but that's what you turned this into?

 

Is it your prejudice

as a person of your own time

who may have believed

an elder's opinion is to be respected

at all times, in all cases

and I needed your opinion

 

Or is it my prejudice

as a person of my own time

who believes that isn't

necessarily the case?

I wasn't asking for your opinion.
