The Edge

The Edge

A Poem by W.A.S.P
"

A poem about soldiers and war.

"
It's incredible how moments in time
can be boiled down like stanzas in rhyme
how seconds in motion
can make such a commotion
for the man laid on the edge

How pieces of the past can last, for hours
in the mind that begs for stronger towers
in the heart of one fighting alone
surrounded by brothers simularily prone
men laid on the edge

A single flash man becomes antiquity
metal arms lashing out liberally
people running as numbers in a mass
one to go and one to pass
an army on the edge

Moments spread thin
one side to win
a hundred others to die in the din
uncle sam struck on the chin
a people on the edge

A final second in the evening twilight
as the survivor huddles in a corner in fright
a hero to some a viliam to others
a pretty good guy in the eyes of his brothers
but still at his core
a man laid on the edge
