Canyon

Canyon

A Poem by Kelli Wyatt
"

"
The howl of a voice.
Echoes through the air.
Vibrates through the rock.
"I am here."
The shrill desire.
The basic necessity.

A powerful lung.
Pushes the next breath.
But the voice pushed away.
All the air.
As the echo fades.
And the canyon:
Silent.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
