Am I A Fool To Believe?

I was thinking about a contest I saw about being in love. I tried to think of something to write about being in love. This is what I came up with. I guess I won't be entering that one.

I used to believe in love,

In that true-fairy tale-what you only see in movies- kind of love.

I used to believe I was in love,

Now I don't know. 

 

Am I a fool to believe?

After 7 years would it still be sweet?

Should he still cause my heart to quicken it's beat? 

Am I a fool to believe?

 

I used to believe, 

But I don't know anymore.

My heart has been ripped out

Like it never was before.

 

Am I a fool to believe?

Love lasting to peace?

My heart should be at ease.

Our love was to never cease.

 

I want to believe,

But sometimes it's hard.

The love is not there

And my heart has been scarred.

 

Am I a fool to believe in love?

I like to think no.

I remember what it is like,

A fairy tale romance like the movies say so.
