Chapter 10

     The apartment was shredded to pieces. The curtains were ripped and lying in heaps on the floor. The couches were overturned and the refridgerator door was ajar, with no food to speak of inside it. It looked to Wren as though a tornado tore through the room. There was no way that Jasin did this himself and she knew that.

     "Gabriel was here," Murphy said, as though reading her mind. She was frightened, so she moved closer him.

     "I thought he couldn't find us here," She said. She was still freaked out. How could he have found them so quickly? There was no way he could have. There was no logical explanation for how this could have happened.

     "I thought so too. Apparently I was wrong," Murphy said, going further into the room. He looked around and bent down and picked up a piece of paper. He read it over then handed it to Wren.

     If you'd like to see Jasin Daniel Smith ever again and have him live, you'd better bring Wren Danielle to me, or he dies. You have until midnight tomorrow night.

                                     Gabriel

     The note scared her. So Gabriel had taken her brother. How were they supposed to save him without dying? They weren't anything special, just a couple of kids, one with freakish powers. Or at least that's what Wren thought, she hated her powers with a passion. Though they had proved handy at times, there was no way she was going to live with them the rest of her life.

     "We have to go save him right away. There is no way that he's going to wait that long to kill your brother. We have to leave right away," Murphy said, heading back towards the door. She was unsure of what to say to him. Didn't they need to plan these things out? But, seeing as she liked him, she would follow him, even if he was delivering her to her death. She highly doubted that he'd do that though, so she followed him out the door and towrds almost certain doom.
