Chapter 7A Chapter by zelly60She woke in a darkened room. It was so dark that she was wondering how she was even awake. Her head was throbbing in pain. What had happened at the school? Why wasn't Jasin with her? Where was she? There were too many questions and not enough answers. She could barely make out a door to her left. She got up and went to it. As son as she placed her hand on the door though, it opened. She stepped back and saw a man holding her brother. The man was tall with black hair that was slicked back and silver eyes. How those eyes haunted her. He was wearing pretty nice clothes, a black shirt, a red tie and nice black slacks to be exact. It was Gabriel and she knew it. He was holding her brother by the collar of his shirt. "Happy Birthday Smiths," He said as he threw Jasin against the wall. He hit the wall with a sickening thud. Gabriel smiled and slammed the door shut. Wren ran over to the wall where she heard the thud to see if her brother was okay. He looked in pretty bad shape, but he opened his eyes and looked at her. "I'll be fine Wrey- Wrey, just fine. Nothing's broken," He said as he sat up. He winced a little. She almost fell over. She hadn't heard that nickname since their father died. "Jase, we've got to get out of here otherwise something horrible is going to happen. I'm not sure how we can escape though," She said looking first at her brother, then around the room for some sort of escape route. Then the idea hit her. How could she have been so stupid? She could walk through walls and create fire. Where was the fire going to help her though? She put her arm around her brother's waist to try to support him, than she ran toward the West wall. She was nearly blinded by the light. She heard voices near her. "They have no idea that they're the most powerful magical beings in the world. They have no memory of their father or Scotland. We have the upper hand," She heard Gabriel say. One thing was for certain, he wasn't on the upper hand anymore. She saw a door straight ahead. It looked like a front door. She ran for it, Jasin helping her by taking his weight off of her. She was nearly there. She could smell the fresh air, feel the cool breeze on her cheek, see the moonlight. She could almost touch the door, feel the wood underneath her fingers. She was part way through the door when she felt something tug at the back of her shirt and pull her inside. She was thrown against the floor. "Did you think you could escape me Smith? Did you think that I was too stupid to hear you running towards the door?" Gabriel said in an angry voice. He walked over to her and grabbed her wrist, pulling her up. He put his face inches from her own. "You're mine Smith. Both of you are," He said in a threatening voice. She was frightened now. She knew she should've been scared before, but somehow she wasn't. He threw her from him and she landed flat on her back. It was pain like she'd never felt before in her life. She couldn't move. The pain intensified suddenly. She was doing her best not to scream. It felt like her skeleton was on fire. Was that a good thing? Seeing as she could create fire. She tried to make a ball of fire, but it was suddenly doused. She screamed out in pain. It felt as if there were pins were very slowly being pushed into her body. She flipped onto her side to try and escape the pain. Gabriel was laughing. She looked up and saw Jasin staring at her in horror. "That's what happens when you try to escape," Gabriel said, still laughing. "Stop! You're hurting her!" Jasin said, getting up and pushing Gabriel away. The pain stopped as suddenly as it had started. "That was a very bad thing to do Smith, very bad indeed," He hissed. He came over and grabbed her wrist again. This time, she was facing Jasin. She felt something cold push against her temple. Jasin gasped and stepped back a little. "You make one move to try and save yor sister, she dies. Get it?" Gabriel said. She saw Jasin nod, but his eyes were moving all around the room. He was going to attempt to save her life. He took one step forward and she heard the gun against her head click. There was no way she was going to live through this experience. Her brother took another step forward. She heard him start to pull back the trigger. She closed her eyes and waited for the pain to come. It never did. She opened her eyes and saw that blonde haired person that had saved them before. He looked only a few years older than herself. The gun was still against her head. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Murphy! Here to save young Wren? I should have guessed you would. I'm guessing you're also here for young Jasin too. Well, you're too late to save either of them," Gabriel said. "You're wrong Gabriel, I may be here to save them, but I'm not too late," Murphy said, glaring at Gabriel. "I'll show you you're too late," Gabriel said quietly. With that he shot the gun and she saw no more light. © 2008 zelly60 |
