Chapter 6

A Chapter by zelly60

Wren had noticed the new kid alright. He had been staring at her for the past two weeks. It was a little creepy, but she was learning to deal with it. Jasin didn't like the looks of the new kid. He had told her that many times over the past two weeks. She was pretty convinced that he was a nice kid. Well, at least he seemed nice enough. But, there was a feeling of foreboding at the back of her mind. She also felt fear. She pushed those to the back of her mind. Afterall, that was no basis to judge someone on. It was definitely his eyes that did it. They struck fear into her very core. Those silver eyes. She had seen them somewhere before, she just couldn't tell where she had seen them. There had to be more than one person with silver eyes. It couldn't be him. There was no way Gabriel or whatever his name was could get into the school. Was there? Of course not. She refused to believe that there was a way he could get into the school. She decided to prove her brother's suspicions about him wrong.

"Hey, I'm Wren Smith," She said to him one day at breakfast. That was the best way of introducing herself, she thought. He looked up at her. He was pretty cute for a new kid. He had blonde hair, slightly pointed features, and of course those silver eyes. He smiled.

"I'm Sean Williamson. You can sit there if you want to," He said motioning to the seat next to him. She pulled out the chair and sat down. There was no one else at the table besides him and herself. She looked around and caught Jasin's eye. He just rolled them and continued to eat at the table across the room.

"So, where are you from?" She asked to ease the tension. She hated silence.

"I was raised in Scotland and sent here when I was about ten years old. I've been living in New York for quite some time," He said. Maybe that's what sent shivers down her spine. His accent. His Scottish accent was arousing in her a fear and familiarity of the country. There was something she was trying to remember. Something of her past that was dormant. He looked at her. He seemed to see her fear. She looked up at him and caught a little smile before he realized she was watching him. Maybe Jasin was right, maybe he was bad news. No one smiles at other peoples' fears. Except maybe Gabriel, but she didn't remember anything about him. She remembered nothing of her past, though now she wished she did, because there would be none of this confusion that she was feeling now.

"Wren, could you come here a second," Jasin called from across the cafeteria. She got up to go speak to him, but Sean grabbed her arm. What was he doing? He barely knew her, yet he was trying to control her. This was a bad situation and steadily getting worse. He stood up and pulled her toward him. Across the room, she saw Jasin get up.

"You remember me Wren Danielle Smith? Or is there too much of a gap in your brain?" He whispered gently in her ear. She wanted to hit him, but he had both of her wrists, so there was no escaping or making any bodily harm. She struggled. There was no way this was Gabriel, he couldn't get into the school. The professors had said so themselves. But when she saw Jasin's expression, she knew that it was him.

"Why, Jasin Daniel Smith, this is quite a surprise. The both of you in the same school. How convenient for me." He said. His voice sounded more mature than it had previously been. Jasin came running toward her. It looked as though he was trying to save her. She wanted him to. To be away from this man, whoever he was. All she knew of him was that he wanted to kill them. She looked up into his face. All of her surpressed memories were coming back to her. She saw now that evil man coming, killing her father. Someone had saved them before. She saw the blonde young man who had saved them before, but as she looked around, all she saw were shocked faces and Jasin running toward her.

"Jasin, don't save me. He wants you too. Save yourself," She yelled. She knew that the both of them together, if he had them, that there would be severe danger for the world. Gabriel took one of his hands and put it over her mouth.

"That was a very bad move." He hissed in her ear. She saw that Jasin had stopped running. She felt something hit the back of her head and then there was no more light.
