Past

Past

A Poem by Zelda
"

I would glady lose my mind For a moments peace

"

If strength's derived
From past so bad
Why does it hurt me so

Why does it keep
Haunting me
Why won't the past just die

How often must I bear the brunt
The shame, the pain, the torment
Of what I've tried to bury

I've accepted what
Fate made of me
Of what I have become

I mourn the one
Who died before
Never a chance was given

The demons rage inside of me
Their anger overwhelming
Any hope of redemption

If what is past is sanity
I would glady lose my mind
For a moments peace
