Mind of phosphorous

It burns, even

In the absence of air,

Burns in water,

Burns in blood.

 

These eyes are burning.

Their fire does not consume them.

Tears do not quench them.

Burning,

Always burning.

This is quite striking and something I can relate to. Burning would be the perfect word to describe those things we can't wash from our minds. The things that keep our wretched wheels spinning. A fire no amount of tears could put out. This is one of my favorite pieces of yours I think. You know, because you totally give a s**t about just how much I enjoyed this :-D Well done as usual.

I like the burning sensation of your poem. ;) Seriously your choice of words is great. Somehow I cannot find inspiration to write anything nice currently. Haven't we been at this point before with swapped roles? ^^

I'm glad you liked the metaphor, it's been knocking around in my head for a while.
Most of my stuff is very negative actually, so I kind of doubt we've been at opposite roles. It's mostly my comments that are positive. I can relate to not having anything nice to write. I always feel better after I write, it seems to relieve that negative energy. So write negative stuff, come over to the dark side! Mmmmmwwwaahahahah!
