Prometheus' Eagle

Prometheus' Eagle

A Poem by Zugzwang

In the distant,

time-misted past,

Promethean punishments

were the norm.

It is important now

to recognise the delineation

between the real and the unreal:

and yet,

I am still Prometheus,

and the eagle,

both.

Thanks for getting me to google greek myths. Nasty dark story. The first part of the poem read as a matter of fact lesson without emotion. The last three lines powerful dark thoughts. I liked it.

Thanks. I've been getting into a bit of Greek mythology lately. You can't beat it.
